Red Flags When Hiring A Claim Adjuster
You need to make an informed decision when hiring a claim adjuster. Here are red flags that you should be aware of when you need their services.
- They demand for upfront fees or payments when you haven't received any insurance check yet. A reliable claim adjuster would charge you on a contingency basis which means that they don't get paid when you don't get paid.
- They insist that you use a particular restoration company or contractor. This probably means that the claim adjuster is receiving a kickback from the third party. There are states that prohibit adjusters to recommend a vendor.
- They don't show you any license, reference or testimonial. A claim adjuster that takes pride in the kind of work they do would be more than willing to present their credentials to you. If they don't, look for another person to hire.
